Red Delicious

Originated in Iowa in 1881. An eating apple popular with both growers and consumers for its distinctive flavor and excellent keeping qualities. Skin of the conical shaped fruit develops a strong stripe which blends into a rich red as it reaches maturity. Flesh is white and sweet. Ripens in mid-October.
