Jonagold

A Golden Delicious-Jonathan cross raised at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, New York in 1943. Introduced in 1968, it is a promising variety with large high quality fruit that stores well and is highly valued as a dessert and processing apple. Flesh is creamy white, fine-textured, juicy, and sweet. This very attractive apple is one-half flushed and mottled bright red on a green tinged, yellow ground. Ripens mid-October.
